Our Mission
At Georgia Forensic Academy, we are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and motivating learning environment that challenges and prepares Forensic Science professionals to work competently in the Criminal Justice Community. Our focus is on providing an educational experience that is practical in impact, allowing our students to not only learn, but to apply their knowledge in the real world.

Meet Our Director
John Lanneau
John Lanneau is a Forensic Science Professional and Director of the Georgia Forensic Science Academy at Piedmont University. Throughout John’s 28-year career, he has served as the Physical Comparison Supervisor of a State Forensic Laboratory and as the Crime Laboratory Director of an internationally accredited municipal law enforcement forensic laboratory. John is a graduate of the prestigious National Forensic Academy, the West Virginia Forensic Management Academy, and the FBI’s Administrative Advanced Latent Fingerprint Course. He has been Internationally Certified as a Crime Scene Technician, State Certified and Nationally recognized as a Fire Investigator, and qualified in both State and Federal court as an expert in latent fingerprints, footwear, and firearms and tool marks. John is currently an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Forensic Science at Piedmont University.
